Tablescape Thursday- Afternoon Tea

I love afternoon tea…the Empress in Victoria, in particular! Here’s my take on the Empress Afternoon Tea.

I’ve collected milk glass for a long time, so to create a tiered cake plate, I used stemmed milk glass vessels upside down to support white plates full of yummies like berries, cream puffs, scones and smoked salmon sandwiches.

The bone china is unmarked, and bought at auction in Victoria, my linens from Paris, an Anchor Hawking juice jug is from Capital Iron, and flatware is all from Salvation Army.

A summer afternoon is the perfect time to spend time with friends :)

I really love how you've taken the cake plates and tiered them, the sandwiches and fruit look fabulous displayed and served that way. Afternoon tea, I haven't done that in so long.

Not only is the table so pretty but I could totally devour those sandwiches (or sarnies as we would call them in England);-) I'm originally from the UK!
Your roses are beautiful too.
I just did my first tablescape today so I'd love if you got the chance to pop over and visit.
Hugs Denise

These photos are spectacular! The roses are very pretty. I use to have milk glass, and for some reason don't any longer. Now I want to find some more. You've inspired me with your pretties!

I like the way you used the milk glass dishes. I've always thought of those little round ones with the scalloped edges as vases but using them for butter pats is inspired.

I also like that not only is your tablescape beautiful it's good for you with all the fruit. I no longer eat table sugar or anything with it in it, it's amazing how sweet fruit is when you're not sucking down table sugar in everything you eat.

And thanks for dropping by my blog, I'll have to try your suggestion for formatting my post.

This tablescape is gorgeous, starting with the color scheme, the food, the linens, the perfect flowers. A real joy for the eyes (since I was not invited...Ha Ha)

Of all the lovely things on your beautiful table, I have to say the thing that really speaks to me is the juice jug. It's so simple and pretty.
And I love the way you stacked your milk glass to make tiered servers. Very clever!

Loved the photos of your table scape, but my eyes popped out of my head (okay... not literally!) when I saw your close-up photo of the blueberries & strawberries! Yummy!!!

I hope you don't think I'm a stalker! ;-) I've been thinking about your wonderful abstract paintings, feeling the pull to try something like that myself (come ana paint with you? Okay!!)... and when it came my turn to write for "hooked"... it just made sense to write about you and your multitude of talents!

As for the picture of us in Joey's bathroom... too funny! I think you look great!! Of course with my newly blonder locks, I don't look like me AT ALL!!

I'd definitely LOVE to meet for lunch. I'm off from work all next week - get in touch if you'd like!!

BTW - I forgot to add the Tobi rendering to my post, so I just did it now.

All the best,
Victoria

I have a decent collection of milk glass with the diamond pattern. Started with a beautiful piece I inherited from my grandmother.

Love the tea party. I'm addicted to the stuff.
