Watercolour, Michelle Morelan 2006
Catherine asked me via email if I have ever tried watercolour…I admit, yes, but it’s not something I feel I '”get”…I feel more comfortable with the control of markers and the texture you can create (below). For presentations I think watercolour fits lots of concepts nicely, but doesn’t offer the intensity of colour that markers do…just the point I would guess. I encourage experimentation with all mediums :) Thanks for ready my blog Catherine…have fun!

I believe that the markers provide a more realistic idea of what you were thinking when prepared the project. The final results are way more beautiful!
I love them both but can identify how you might prefer one medium over the other. I love your marker works.

Markers are much better in my opinion for architectural and interior design renderings. Watercolor is more for creating art and you know how to do well both.
Love both, like the soft dreamy quality of a watercolor but would think marker is more accurate and realistic when it comes to architectural renderings which are more specific and scientific and less artistic. Both beautiful when you have a talented hand using them!
I much prefer markers. but then that's how I learned to render my drawings ... I'm currently at art class now to learn water colour techniques so stay tuned! happy weekend Michelle!
Michelle,
Hi! This is my first post. I just have to tell you that I love your blog. I am an Interior Design student at UC Berkeley Ext. in San Francisco in my third year and have struggled with my renderings. Finding your site has been a gift! I have learned so much just from studying your renderings. Hopefully one day you will give a workshop in the San Francisco area.
Warmest Regards,
Delane
I very like Your rendering. There are awesome. And You a realy example for me. I very impressive You work.
But long time I fully love watercolor. Without reciprocity, unfortunately. It is complex and beautiful. I just want to protect her. Unfortunately, not mine works
Luigi Premazzi - was a Great Master of watercolor rendering. You can find them at google a lot. His watercolor full of color and depth.
I like the markers! More saturated in colour!
xx
i love the ease of use of markers. stupid me; what are 'fineliners?' is that like 'le pen?'

Markers all the way! Watercolours are fun but you need more prep work and they tend to look washed out. Markers are more vibrant and fun!
