Take Me Away Calgon…

mmid grand bathroom

I don’t know if I’m dating myself with that comment from the 70’s!! This fascination of late with bathing probably comes from the fact that I have been living without a (usable) tub for a few years now.

I remember making it an experience…a glass of wine, music, a book. This bathroom is one I designed for just us girl types. A black Baccarat crystal chandelier, custom chaise in a grey velvet, sheer draperies, black metal window frames and custom vanities are all appropriate for such a grand space. The bathtub is my all time favourite.

Very nice Michelle, just one of my favorite ways to relax. Candles, fluffy warm towels, soft music, and bubbles galore!

Ha!! This is one of my favorite things to do. I usually have a bath and a book every night to relax and sometimes with a glass of wine. BUT it ends there since I have no elaborate lighting or beautiful decor!! We have tubs that are worn and dated from the 50's or so when they were last updated. The bathrooms are only big enough to hold the tub, sink and toilet!! AH...but none the less I still enjoy!! I am wondering what a decorator could do with a very tiny space!! ha!! We don't even have fans in ours so there is another problemo!

Great design Michelle, luxurious look but elegant at the same time. I wish I had that bathroom (and those windows) and now I wonder how the master bedroom will look...

Oh I remember those soaks in the tub! I think the last tub soak I had was prechildren...actually i think I was pregnant and uncomfortable and it was the only thing that soothed my aching body. I really need to do that...

I would lay in the tub with a glass of wine and dream of being able to do what you do...make your ideas come to life....do you know how blessed you are to be able to do that?

Thanks Kathy, you don't know how much that means.

I'm with Kathy! You are so talented, AND I want to be in that tub with the glass of wine, no computer, no telephone - maybe a good book, that's all!

Oh Michelle - that is gorgoues. And now I long for a tub. We made the decision to forego a luxurious tub in favor of a spacious shower. Every now and again, I find myself missing the opportunity you illustrated!

J'adore a tub!!! They should bring back Calgon commercials... everyone can identify with those moments of being taken away... LOL!
