Bergere Love

The lines, the feathers, the piping, just the right ratio of wood to fabric…I love the proportions of the Bergere. Jazz it up with a new linen and wood finish.

One of my very first projects was to reupholster a Bergere piece. I choose a very contemporary fabric in yellow. My client was very unsure but when the piece arrived she cried. Who knew! It is still one of my favourite memories as a designer.

Such carved pieces almost never look as good in rendering.

The first bergere I ever used in a project was done in black.
