A Pool Area in Comox

Celina and Dean have a beautiful home in Comox which needs some updates, but has an amazing water view. It is private, with acreage and surrounded by untouched west coast landscape. It wasn’t difficult to consider the colours of the forest and ocean, our extended outdoor living season, natural materials like linen and concrete and a variety of lounging conditions.

The pool house is a proposed new addition, providing changing space, a bathroom, covered and partly covered outdoor space, and an outdoor shower…the corridor between leading to a field beyond. Outdoor curtains move in the breezes and large urns hold fragrant lavender. Pattern is used sparingly; the white and blue combination is nautical in feel, yet uncomplicated when read as a whole. Natural stone walls are kept low, as to not impede the view. I propose a NanaWall system, and a natural flagstone fireplace undercover. A deck above, proposed by their architect is now usable space off the master bedroom, taking advantage of the ocean views.

Cost of this E-Design project? (from photo and CAD plans)  $1775 plus tax

Thanks Patricia...I've asked her to let me know when they are complete, but being an e-design project, I may never see it. And, without a contract, it would be a favour from the client. Still, I hope she uses some of my ideas.

Hi my name is Jill Lintner and I am a junior interior design student going into my senior year this fall. I came across your blog and wondered if you have any advice as to networking using Blogger? I was thinking of starting one as a student and turning it into my professional blog once I get out of school, but i could post projects and get feedback but how does it work to get people to view your blog? Your work is amazing and i love your rendering style. I am developing my render style and it is similar... Do you sell your renderings? I cannot wait to hear back from you and see how Blogger has worked from you! Thank you for your time and have a great day! :)

Hi Jill,

Yes, I do contract renderings for other designers and homeowners. Congrats on finishing up your schooling, and thanks for the visit!

As far as blogger goes (or whatever blog format you choose), it's been one of the best business and personal moves ever. It takes allot of time, and I try to keep the hours down, but the people I have met has made it all worth it.

Best,
Michelle
