As room dividers, or to define spaces, draperies can soften a room, absorb sound, insulate and cocoon us, or add a dynamic energy. They move in the breeze, give us a large surface to treat, and can be an economical solution where a wall is not possible. Easy to open, and detail driven, I think they are a great solution.

I love curtains and textile in general and in my place I have four panels I use as a divider, I think four is better than two, because you can play more with them and make them part of the architecture, like soft columns...or gather them on both sides so they become like theatre's curtains.
Can't resist to say that my third and fourth posts (October 2008) were about "Bocca Marylin" red sofa, now produced by the group "Poltrona Frau" (as seen in the last image of your post)
This post is awesome. Love the cool title and seeing so many uses for curtains to enhance design. First time visitor, over from Maria's 10 of my favourite posts. I am adding you to my blogroll. ...susan
